Not a great cover for the Huskers, but it was the Rose Bowl, playing for a possible National Championship.  Miami's potent offense was too much for the Blackshirts, still stinging from the "stampede" in Boulder.  Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch tried to rally the troops repeatedly, with no luck against Miami's vaunted defense.
