1950s??? Red Helmet Clock

     Very sharp looking helmet clock that appears to be from the 1950s, though it could have been from a later era.  The reason I think the 50s is due to the color, as Nebraska wore red helmets until Coach Devaney took over in 1962. The Huskers wore red helmets with a gray face mask from 1957 through 1961, although this clock has a white mask.  Anyone out there have any more info to share on this one?

     Another one very similar to the previous, but with "GO BIG RED" added to the top and more traditional clock hands. A little dusty, but you get the picture!

1960s Bell Alarm Clock

Featuring Harry Husker

     Another nice Harry Husker memorabilia item. Harry took over as the official mascot in the early 1960s following the start of the Devaney era, replaced in the early 1970s at the start of the Osborne era.

1970 National Championship Clock

     This beauty measures 12" x12" and is made out of a lightweight metal similar to the 1970 and 1971 team wooden plaques. Lower right-hand corner states that it was made by SWIMCO. The NU-LSU score is listed incorrectly as 17-11 at the 12 o'clock position (click inset below).

1970 Running Harry Clock

     Here is a very hard to find clock from 1970 that features "Running Harry" on the face. Notice the different locations of some of the mascots compared to the clock below.  Measures 12" by 12" square, made by a company called DECOR Accessories, Inc. 1971 National Champs Clock

     Nearly identical to the one above, this version commemorates the 1970 and 1971 back to back championships as noted in the logo at 6 o-clock. Click the image to enlarge. Also by DECOR Accessories, Inc.

Mid City Bank Helmet Clock

     This clock was made by Creative Leisures of Jacksonville, FL put out by Mid City Bank of Omaha.  No idea what the date of issue was on this one.

     This is a small metal clock that measures only 8" in diameter.  Most likely from the late 1970s.

1970-71 National Champs Clock

     This awesome clock was put out by D. & S. Enterprises in South Sioux City soon after the 71 season.  Measures 16" x  7 1/2".

1970s Herbie & Player Clock

     This is a very neat clock from the 1970s featuring Herbie Husker and a Husker QB wearing #11 like the one above, not sure if a particular player or not. Has a burlap or fabric background. Almost appears to be 3 dimensional!

Lamps

1930s Pennant Table Lamp

This is an awesome glass based table lamp from the 1930s.  The shade measures 6" across at the top, 11" across at the bottom and features a University of Nebraska pennant.

1960s Lamp Bulb

     I'm guessing that this bulb is from the 1960s based on the style of lettering, although it may be older. If anyone has any information, please share and I'll update the description here.

1970-71 Lamp Bulb

The light bulb itself is a bit odd shaped, which adds to its uniqueness. The filament inside the bulb is formed in a pattern to commemorate the back to back National Championships of 1970 and 1971.

It is thought that Lawlor's Sporting Goods in Lincoln ordered the special bulbs from Luxor Lighting Products.  Some may have come with wood blocks for display purposes.  These were sold as working bulbs, as shown in the photo.

1969-1970 NU Table Lamp

I'm guessing the time period to be 1969 or 1970, as this is the cross-over between using "NU" to the single "N" on the side of the Cornhusker helmets, though the sides on this lamp are "UN" - just the reverse of what was used 1967-1969. It stands around 15" tall, with holes on the top and the back of the base for a cord and top.  Thanks to Dave Brown for the contribution.

1970s Child's Table Lamp

     Very nice child's night light table lamp. Likely early 1970s due to the red helmet design. Stands 9-1/2" tall. Click the thumb below to see it in action.

1970s Child's Snoopy Table Lamp

     Another nice child's lamp similar to the one above, with a Big Red Snoopy on the side. Stands 10" tall.

1970/80s Herbie Red Telephone Table Lamp

     This appears to be a professionally made lamp judging by the workmanship and parts used. The telephone handset is a red molded original (not painted) and attachment points are perfectly smooth (not hand drilled).  The shade is 8" tall, 9" diameter at the base.  Solid pine base is just over 7" square.  

1980s Herbie Helmet Table Lamp

     Not sure if this is a home made job, but I'm guessing not by the fact that the mini helmet is not a replica quality like Schutte or Riddell.  Football field base with the added touch of the Herbie sticker on the shade makes it a nice piece.  Could be as from the 1990s as well.

1970s Harry Bank Table Lamp

     Another of a line of customized table lamps, this one using a 1970s Harry Husker Bank like the one posted here. Same shade, with a plaque (shown below) commemorating the career of Coach Bob Devaney form 1962-1972, including Big 8 Championships, National Championships, individual player awards, and career record at Nebraska. These are special lamps, indeed!

Devaney Era Helmet Table Lamp

     Here are a pair of table lamps from the Devaney era, as evidenced by the helmet style from around 1971-1971, and the same plaque as on the previous lamp. Many items were put out at this time with the "new" helmet style and to celebrate the back to back National Championships.

     Same helmet, different lamp.  This one is of the hanging variety.  

Huskers "N" Table Lamp

     This one is the table and the lamp! May be a one of a kind or part of a run, not sure of the time period.  Very nice table lamp set, looks to be about 18" in diameter.

Football Mug Lamp?

     I have to think that this is a one of a kind item made by someone from their personal collection.  The red mug is a plastic lidded stein of sorts, such as those found here.  Would definitely take a small lamp shade!

1973 Candlestick Telephone

     This is a beautiful red candlestick telephone dated 1973 on the bottom. Stands 12" tall.

1970s Sports Car Telephone

     Not sure if this is late 70s or early 80s. Pretty neat little "car phone" for the rabid Husker fan.
