| This decanter was put out by McCormick Distilling Company in 1972 in honor of the 1971 season. The decanter is a figure of Jerry Tagge. McCormick was told they could not put the actual number of a player on the decanter because it would be in violation of NCAA rules. They originally wanted to put #14 on this decanter. Because of what they were told, they decided to go with the #1 to represent that Nebraska was #1 in the country. |
